The ultimate Rupert the Bear for collectors.
Those of us of a certain age remember Rupert, the lovable bear from Nutwood who first appeared in the Daily Express in November 1920. The first really famous bear he is actually older than all of our other favourites including Mickey Mouse (by eight years), Winnie the Pooh (six years). Our lovely friend Paddington is an incredible thirty eight years younger than Rupert!
Steiff have therefore created this anniversary edition of Rupert Bear to celebrate his 100th birthday in 2020.
He is made from the finest winter white alpaca with a traditional red jumper, yellow checked trousers and matching scarf. Not forgetting the dinky lace-up shoes as a final touch.
He has a music box which plays the original theme tune 'Rupert' from his TV series. Everyone does indeed know his name!
This special 100th Anniversary Rupert Bear is limited to 1,000 pieces and is an exclusive piece for the UK and Ireland. He comes with his numbered certificate in a Steiff gift box with its original cardboard outer sleeve.
Size: 33cm / 13 inches
3-Way Jointed (arms and neck)
